# Shiny Gen > Shiny Gen is an AI game maker that runs in your browser: describe a game, play it, and edit its > assets, code, and world with built-in AI tools. Games run on the Godot engine and are written in > GDScript. Free to use, with paid gem credits for AI generation only; no subscription required. > A hosted MCP server (https://mcp.shinygen.ai/mcp) lets AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT build > in your live project, and the `shinygen` npm package embeds games on any website. Shiny Gen is unrelated to Shiny, the R/Python web framework by Posit, and unrelated to the Pokémon "shiny" mechanic or shiny hunting. ## Core - [What is Shiny Gen](https://shinygen.ai/what-is-shiny-gen): Full description of the product: how it works, what makes it different, and full specifications. - [FAQ](https://shinygen.ai/faq): Pricing and free gems, the Godot engine and GDScript, platforms, game ownership and commercial use, export and embedding, and connecting Claude or ChatGPT over MCP. - [Play](https://shinygen.ai/play): The app: runs in the browser, nothing to install. ## Documentation - [Getting started](https://shinygen.ai/docs/getting-started): Make your first game in minutes: describe it, the AI writes real Godot GDScript, and it runs instantly in the browser. - [Connect Claude or ChatGPT (MCP)](https://shinygen.ai/docs/mcp): Shiny Gen's hosted MCP server: connect an AI assistant and it can build, edit, and play-test your live browser project. Art, 3D models, music and per-entity behaviour are all documents the assistant can either write itself for free or have generated from a description for gems, and the same two ways apply to editing one it already made. Also covers agents that write their own MCP client: Streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, dynamic client registration, loopback redirect allowed. The user must press Host External Agent in the app first. Also covers agent-hosted sessions: a user can mint a one-time link (https://shinygen.ai/agent_session#, the code is in the fragment, works once, expires in 15 minutes, lasts 1 or 24 hours) that lets an agent with its own browser run Shiny Gen on its own machine on the game it was given and on new games it creates for the user (create_game moves the session to the new game), and read the user's other games and the public catalog read-only (browse_games, list_game_files, read_game_file), connecting with a bearer token and no consent page. One agent session per account (a newer link ends the older one); the agent should call get_context first, which declares the game, the unavailable tools and the gems left today. The one-time code is for issuance only: afterwards the MCP bearer IS the session, so an agent whose browser is destroyed between turns reopens the same game by POSTing it to /agent_session/resume as an Authorization header, or by opening https://shinygen.ai/agent_session/resume and pasting it. Only session_revoked and token_expired need a new invite. Opening the game does not end a session: only the person's Revoke button and a newer link do. - [Gems and pricing](https://shinygen.ai/docs/credits): What's free, what uses gem credits, packs vs optional membership, and ownership/commercial use. - [Embed games on your website](https://shinygen.ai/docs/embed): Run a Shiny Gen game on any web page with the shinygen npm package: one script tag, WebGPU with a WebGL2 fallback. ## Company - Company: Shiny AI Technologies, LLC (Massachusetts, USA), founded 2024.
